Finally an update

This one is for Pap. I am really terrible at updating this thing. Caroline is getting so big. She is not a baby anymore. She is talking all the time. She loves to swim in our pool. She has been taking lessons for a while and it is unbelievable how much a child so young can do. She can swim underwater for 8 seconds, swim to the wall by herself and pull herself out of the water. She is floating on her back almost by herself. It is amazing. The scary part is that she has no fear of the water. We have to watch her so carefully and always keep the gate locked. She is starting to sing her ABCs. Right now she gets to E and starts over but we'll take it. She knows her colors, is great with puzzles, and loves to build things. She is great at making messes but terrible at cleaning them. She is a decent eater. It is getting better. She loves mexican food, all fruits, and of course chicken nuggets. She will eat pretty much anything that she can "dip dip". Terrible habit but it works. She is so much fun to be around and makes us laugh everyday. Her new favorite toy is her baby doll named MeDay. Not sure where that came from. Enjoy the pics...

So much for updating the blog more often... I am not very good at this blogging thing. Here is a little update on miss Caroline. Mothers Day out (or school as I like to call it) is going much better than I expected. She is getting better every time. The first few days were tough. We would pull into the parking lot and she would cry "no mama". HEARTBREAKING!!! But I know that as soon as I leave she is fine. She is always playing and in a good mood when I pick her up. I will post pics from the last few weeks. We have been trying to keep busy. We made cupcakes one day which was quite the mess. Caroline has MDO on tues and wed, gymnastics on thursday and gymboree on friday. Her social calender is much more full than mine. Throw in a few play dates and she stays booked! We are all really ready for warm weather. We haven't been to the park all week. We will try to go later today. Caroline skipped school today. I have been out of town and wanted to hang out with her today. She is so fun to hang out with these days. She has the best personality. She loves to run, laugh and play. She is really starting to "talk". She is repeating alot but she mostly jabbers all day. It is so funny. I hear her in her playroom just talking away to herself. She's a mess. I will try to update more often. Enjoy the pics...
Her hair is finally long enough for a ponytail!
Who doesn't love it when the ice cream man comes??
Finding mom's shoe bin
Yes, that is chocolate milk she is dumping on the counter!

My new lunch box
So today is a big day. Caroline started Mothers day out today. She did great. I did not. I cried when I got there and cried when I left. She on the other hand, was sitting at the table like a big girl eating a snack. I really hope that she likes it. I think it will be really good for both of us. I took a few pictures this morning with her new lunch box. (thanks Ryann)
We have been enjoying this great weather and playing outside alot. Caroline likes to get all of the pool toys out everyday and play with them in the yard. No man gets left behind. They all have to come out every time. Our friend Hannah came to play with us on Friday and I took them both to gymboree. They had a blast. We went to the zoo on Saturday. She loved the elephants, monkeys and giraffe. The bigger the better.
The rain has moved in now so we are back to playing inside. My friend Jenny came over yesterday with her baby Adeline. Caroline was so sweet to her. She taught her how to eat a graham cracker. It was cute.
I am posting lots of pics. Mostly for my mom who is out of town.

Trying to catch up

My new goal is to update my blog more. I am not sure if anyone even looks at it, but I want to use it as a scrapbook for Caroline. It will be a good way to keep up with what she is doing. Having said that....... she is getting so big. We went to the doctor last month and she is 23 pounds and 34.5 inches. That puts her in the 95% for ht. She is projected to be between 5'10 and 6'. This is funny because I am 5'4. She loves to play outside. She runs everywhere she goes. Jumping on couches, beds, etc is a favorite activity. She dances all the time. As soon as music comes on she is moving. Her vocabulary is getting bigger everyday. Her new favorite word is moon. She wants to read moon books and find the moon at night. She goes to bed around 7 and sleeps until about 7. She still naps twice a day which I love. She sometimes tries to skip the afternoon nap so I think my days of 2 naps are numbered. We are going to try mothers day out next week. I am really nervous about it. She is really clingy to me and panics when I leave the room. Wish us luck on that. She is such a joy to be around. She smiles and laughs alot. She loves to play. She charms those around her. The other day she was in a foul mood so we went to the park. Its amazing how that place can transform a child. All I have to say is "park" and she starts flapping her arms like a duck saying "duck duck". I think she could sit and feed the ducks all day. They love Gerber puffs. That is our duck food of choice. I took some pics from the park that I am attaching. I am also putting up some pics from our first trip to Chuckie Cheese. I feel really old because I still call it Showbiz. I am still figuring out this blog thing so I don't know how to do a good layout. Hopefully that will come with practice. Enjoy the pics.....

Happy December

I obviously am not very good at updating my blog. Caroline had a great time at Thanksgiving. We had 16 people at our house for dinner. She did great. She thinks everyone is there to see her. She is sort of right about that. Being the only baby in the family, she gets all of the attention. Mark's parents were here for a week, so she had constant attention.
Caroline is obsessed with ducks. We took her to the park to feed the ducks. She LOVED it. Last Sunday we went to the Peabody Hotel for the duck walk and to see Santa. She thought Santa was pretty cool but she was much more interested in the animated duck. She couldn't get enough of him. She followed him around the lobby squeezing his nose. I am going to try to get Christmas card pictures done today. I will post them if I get any. Here are a few pics from the last few weeks.

This is Caroline and her best friend Benton at the park. Caroline thinks that the only way to go down the slide is to crawl up it first. These two are funny together. We have been enjoying the nice weather. The cold weather is moving in. We are not looking forward to that. She loves to be outside. We had people over for the game yesterday and she thought they all came to see her. The guys were throwing the football in the yard and she was right in the middle of them. At one point I looked over and my girly girl was digging in the dirt with a stick.

A first time for everything

Welcome to the York family blog. I am new to this, so it could be interesting. First, a little about us. Mark and I have been married for 41/2 years. (yes the 1/2 does count) We have a beautiful little girl who is already 13 months old. I can't believe it. This blog will be mostly about her.
I thought I'd add a few recent pictures. She loved Halloween. Once she figured out that if you put your basket out people would put candy in it.... she was hooked. Her new favorite activity is throwing pumpkins. She takes the baby pumpkins and throws them all over the yard.
